Support for a new school, a move or a new start

For the weeks when everything changes at once: a new school, city, country, team, camp or boarding school.

Parents are usually buried in logistics just when a child needs someone calm beside them. I can be there for the drop-off and the first day, then follow up with a few sessions timed around how the settling-in actually goes. It's common for parents to be more anxious than the child. That's fine too.

Typical situations

  • Starting a new school, or the first weeks of a new school year
  • Moving to a new city or country, and settling in once you're there
  • Joining a new sports team or club
  • The first drop-off at summer camp or a residential school

How it works

It can be just me and your child, or include you, whatever settles things best. I can travel for the first day, in the Czech Republic or abroad, and follow-up sessions can run online. Being on school or camp premises depends on what the school allows and on your written consent.

This is priced as New Chapters, from €150, depending on what's needed. See pricing.

Questions

Is this only for the first day?

It depends on your child. Some only need someone with them for the change itself. Others benefit from a few sessions in the weeks after, timed around how the adjustment is going.

How can I help my child settle into a new school in Prague?

Visit the school together before the first day if you can, keep morning routines calm and predictable, and expect tiredness and big feelings in the first weeks. Ask open questions about small things rather than "how was school?". If after a few weeks your child is still struggling, or you'd like someone there on day one, that's what New Chapters is for.
